Paint me a picture!

“What should I draw my lady?” The painter asked the beauty queen. She spoke with certainty, “I know what I want. But I am not sure whether you can depict it in your art.” The painter, who had been painting for 10 years gave a soft smile and said, “It would be my honor to offer you my art. I know not what you want my lady. But I am certain of one thing, that I will give my heart and soul to whatever I create. If only I am given a chance.” She did not seem too impressed with the answer, it was a cliché’ after all!

However, she also believed in equality and fair chances. She said, “Can you draw a picture of my face? One that portrays not only my beauty but also the sadness behind my fake smile. You will not miss the black mole on my cheek certainly, but can you also show the scar below my right eyebrow. Can you depict the story behind my eyebags which my handmaiden so cleverly hides with makeup? Can you put together a face that not only speaks of innocence in my eyes but also heartbreak and wisdom that followed? Can you paint me a picture which is poetry in itself?”
